New Year's poem

Here's a poem I made for new year:

Happy New year!

2017’s here!

2016’s history now,

As it leaves with a bow.

Fireworks and dancing,

Celebrations and partying,

Till the midnight hours,

At which the new year arrives.

Watch as 2016 draws to an end,

Wave it a goodbye, and its friend

2017 steps into take its place,

With a smile on its face.

Pop-up basics: The V-fold

Have you wondered how I made the bird pop-up card I made earlier? It turns out that I made it using a simple technique: The V-fold.
The V-fold is a pop-up technique that allows you to have almost any shape pop up when the card is opened fully. To make a card with the V-fold, follow the steps below..

 Make any shape you want(for this example I have made a rectangle), and fold it in half and make two flaps on the bottom. There should be some gap between the edge of the flap and the fold line.

Open the card and stick the shape on top of it using the flaps. Make sure that the centre fold line on the shape coincides with the fold line on the card. Also make sure both halves of the shape are stuck at slight angles. For further clarity, the back and top views are given below.

For example, look at the bird card which I mentioned earlier. You'll notice that the tail is actually a V-fold.

So that's how to do the V-fold! Have a popping time!

A doodle-recognising AI!

Google recently released its new neural network experiment, 'Quick, Draw!'. The fun game asks you to doodle six things with 20 seconds for each item, while Google's intelligent neural network tries figuring out what you drew by comparing it with other people's drawings. It keeps on getting better and better as you play more!

I made a pop up card which features a bird popping up from the card.

The song of The Log

"A spilt bottle of Rage turned an innocent tree trunk into The Log. Now it seeks revenge by crushing everything in its path." 

Once a lumberjack tripped near a tree,

His bottle of rage spilt and became empty,

A tree trunk was drenched,

Then it started looking for revenge.

Once a harmless trunk of a tree,

Now it’s covered with spikes of steel,

It seeks to cause pain

And destroys everything in its way!

It stops all attacks,

Pushing everything back,

Rolling faster than a hog,

It’s The Log!

The Song of Snow

In Winter  comes the snow,
As you probably know.
Some play with it,
Some store it bit by bit.

As white as a sheet of paper,
Yet as soft as a feather.
Have you thought, what it felt,
When due to the heat, it melts?

In the Summer when the heat is felt,
Sadly, away the snow melts.
And then till next Winter , away it goes,
For that is the story of the snow.

If the odds you're facing

If you're trying to kill a tiger
Who is in a state of extreme hunger,
The thought may just linger,
To give up!

You don't have to do everything,
Only some specific things,
It's all up to you,
Whether to do them or admit defeat!
There's nothing wrong in calling it a day,
You do it if you may!
Just give up!
Admit defeat!
You can stop!
Admit you've been beat!

Summer vacation

Since it's Summer Vacation, I wrote a song about it.

It's almost the Summer holidays,
We go, "Yay, Yay, Hooray!"
All around the Globe,
It's a great time for Schoolophobes!

It's the Summer Vacation,
A time of elation,
To go swimming in a pool
And not worry about school!

School is finished,
Studies are diminished,
The vacation is starting,
Fun is prevailing!

It's the Summer Vacation,
 A time of relaxation,
Along period of holidays,
"Hip, Hip, Hooray!"

There's one last thing for us to say,
Before we leave for the holidays
And eat delicious pies,
We wish school a "Good-bye!"
